If you're looking for a relaxed place near the airport, this is a safe bet. But it won't be clean, and they won't tend to any requests, not provide you their advertised perks. The problems I encountered were related to customer service. The don't tell you up front, but they don't service the rooms every day, nor even every other day. Ewww! I love the "green model" of modern hotels that ask you to let them know if you want clean towels or sheets each day, so they can save water, etc. by not doing laundry if not necessary. But sometimes it IS necessary! This should be guest choice. NOT hotel choice. Hilton, if you aren't servicing rooms until every 4th day, you need to post that as a warning everywhere you advertise your rooms. Neglect of sanitation in a hotel room is a subpar hotel experience at best. Nowhere near industry standard. Hiding the fact that your hotel cuts costs this way is dangerous for travelers for whom this is a priority. It is also false advertising. As an experienced traveler, I expected bumps in the road, so I made sure to speak to the front desk on my way out after my first night, to express that I wanted housekeeping to visit while I was out. I needed clean towels and said that too. The man at the desk said they would see if they could get me some clean towels. I found that an odd response to asking for housekeeping to come to my room, but I left without inquiring further. Upon getting to my room late that night, I saw there had been no visit to my room. There were no fresh towels. Our room service food containers from breakfast were never removed, so the food was still sitting in the room rotting away. How absolutely vile and disgusting. For the record, most of the food is sitting here rotting because it tasted like dirty dish water, so I could only gag down about half of it before leaving it, after paying their mandatory 20% gratuity and delivery fee to bring it up here. I never expected to come back to my room and have it still sitting here over 12 hours later. Seriously, Hilton??? I called the front desk after midnight to ask for fresh bath towels, because housekeeping is closed at this time (weird for any hotel in a major metro area, but especially one by an airport) and would you believe they had none?! They only had floor mats & hand towels. This could have been avoided if they provided housekeeping daily, as a standard practice. Why is it my job to chase after clean towels at your hotel, Hilton? They should be provided DAILY. Unless explicitly stated otherwise by the guests. Room cleaning also needs to occur DAILY. Empty the trash! Remove dirty towels! Make the beds and change sheets if necessary. If the guests indicate they don't want this, that would be the ONLY time it would make sense to skip these sanitation measures. In my case, there is some weird sticky substance on the floor next to the bed by the phone. The side I chose to sleep on. I didn't know this and after showering I got into bed and my feet and sheets were all sticky with a black tarry substance. I was disgusted and confused after I had just showered, and went to the bathroom to rewash my feet with the towel and then got back in bed. I noticed the black sticky stuff on one of my feet again after returning to bed, and again got up to wash it off, this time checking the floor for what was getting on my feet. Right next to the bed is some disgusting stain on the carpet. I placed the towel over the stain and left it there, intending to have housekeeping address it in the morning, but they never came. I even stopped at a housekeeping cart on my way out to discuss it, and was advised she wasn't assigned my room number. I saw her clipboard and list of rooms. She wasn't. Hence my stop at the front desk after that. What the man failed to tell me is, NO ONE WAS ASSIGNED TO MY ROOM. Housekeeping was never going to visit, even after I specifically requested it, TWICE, and they knew no one was going to come. They knew all along. The Hilton experience has fallen into the gutter. Truly. This is just sad. Rooms: Large and spacious. Nice hair and body products. Comfortable pillows and sheets. No blackout curtains. Only sheers. Not good for day sleeping if jet-lagged. The bed springs were pushing into my ribs. Definitely in need of new mattresses.
