The Center for Sleep Medicine

I've never been to The Center for Sleep Medicine as a patient. I regularly see the position vacant for the Scheduler/receptionist position at the Mokena and Naperville locations. In the past, I have been asked preliminary questions after they have sent me a message on indeed. One of the questions is "what are your salary expectations"? This time, I've posted that I my expectations for the position were between $20 - $23 hourly, which is much less than I've previously responded . I got a response for The Center for Sleep Medicine saying "Unfortunately, our expectations are between $18- $19, best of luck on your job search. " I have over 15 years of experience for the position as well as many references. I immediately messaged back saying $19 an hour was something I could consider and never heard back the company. If the company wants a seat filler, it's very apparent thats their only intention. A dollar shouldn't be a barrier to a possible good working relationship. Safe to say, obviously HR or management is not actually interested in hiring someone or keeping them. Every few months the position is vacant. It was, and will be the last time I apply for The Center for Sleep Medicine.

I have gone there on an annual basis for over 10 years now. I suppose that says something. They are conveniently located and pleasant to deal with, helpful with questions and so forth. Initially, I experienced a sleep study which was necessary for determining the extent of my sleep apnea and "formatting" a CPAP machine for my needs. It's a little awkward being wired for sound and color too while someone (outside the bedroom that exists on the premises of the sleep center and sitting at a console somewhere) listens to me breathe and (well) have apneas, snore, etc. Dunno how they stay awake! (lots of caffeine?) It has been over ten years, and I also have lost 38 lbs so they are soon going to do another sleep study which involves me staying overnight again. In general, my contact with them has been pleasant, occurred basically annually and everything is going well.
