Dr.Kolavo is an old school is very upfront and not very personable he doesn't sugar coat nor try to make suggestions to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Dr. KOLAVO isn't going to do a Unnecessary surgery just because you want one. He will make sure you take the proper steps of therapy and other avenues before. Any high risk surgery is involved and any surgery is a high risk surgery. I did end up. Having a lower back fusion On my L4 L5 L5S1 and that man with a very strong front has. The most wonderful kind-hearted caring that side manner. When? Taking care of you after your surgery? He is one of the best in the business. My surgery was 15 years ago and I'm a lot better for it. Doctor clavo is a great doctor if you can handle the truth and not just what you want to hear.

Rude and dismissive to every concern I had. The doctor who did my scoliosis surgery moved to another state so I started seeing dr kolavo for all needs concerning my back. Recently I injured my back somehow and have been in a lot of pain for a little over a month. Everytime Ive seen him his answer is always more exercise. Mind you, I exercise 5-6 days a week prior to this injury. And I told him that. His response more aerobic exercise. I get enough of that too. Then he said go take a walk, make sure youre staying active. I told him that a few days prior to the visit, I did go for a walk and after 15 minutes, I had a difficult time standing and was almost falling to the ground the pain was so bad. He literally had the audacity to say go to the gym and use the treadmill. Whenever I expressed a concern, now or in previous visits, it was always youre not exercising enough. I cant express how angry this made me each time. Never in my life have I met such a rude or dismissive doctor. Find yourself a better ortho surgeon. (I certainly will). This one doesnt care.

I went to see Dr Kolavo for a follow up after going to the ER after I fell at work because of the pain I was having, the MRI shows a herniated disc, degenerative discs on my spine, and also my primary doctor said on my left hip I have osteopenia arthritis, when I met the Dr, very short cold, explained what I already knew as I researched online my conditions having the results before I went to see him, and he never addressed the problem with my hip which is numb, burning and painful, he was rude when I asked him questions, not friendly at all, imagine your insurance is paying for the visit it's not a free service, you have million questions as is a condition that can't be fix but to learn to be able to live with this and make it better, but today doctors only care about their pay, it's not cheap and you have to see their sour faces, barely answering any questions and promoting just their medication, very disappointed and saying surgery is only if everything fails, how I see he is not the one with this pain every day that you can't even do the things that you used to love and not able to take care of your home or loved ones because your pain is so bad and after the fall it got worse, but of course to the dr that is nothing. Not taking in consideration that my insurance do not cover all physical therapy because of the premium and not able to work, my husband has all of our Bill's in top of him, but of course nobody cares about that and in top of all that with the pandemia which makes things worse. Very disappointed this dr was as a brick wall, nothing will move him. Very sad days we live in today. Maybe because I am a foreigner, but I was brought here since I was 3 months old and I am a legal Citizen of USA.
