I ordered a replacement tailgate for my 2007 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. A new one from Toyota or a body shop would have been over $1100. D&H had one painted in my truck color for $489.00. So I thought I would give it a try. It took about a week to get to me and when it finally arrived I was disappointed. It was the right color, but was unfortunately dented from the outside in one place and had a few small indentations in others. The paint job was poor quality with obvious paint runs and drips. I just couldn't see putting this tailgate on my truck. To me it looked like a refurbished/repainted tailgate from an old truck and not a new one. I was bummed out.
With some hesitancy, after reading a few negative reviews here, I called the company and explained the problem. The customer service rep was very friendly and helpful and said she would open a claim file and send it over to the claims department for investigation. Through emails and phone calls I was asked to send some pictures of the damage. After viewing the damage in the photos the claim department agreed it was damaged and would file a claim with the shipping company (though I can't be sure, I don't think it was damaged in shipping, I think their supplier supplied an inferior product). I was given the option of getting it replaced or "fixed". Because of shipping time, etc. I decided to try to see if a body shop could fix and went to get an estimate. The body shop unfortunately told me it was unfixable. I quickly contacted D&H after receiving that news and they agreed to send me another tailgate at no charge. I just received it today and crossing my fingers, I opened the box and looked at the tailgate. It was perfect! Thank you D&H for standing behind your product and making things right. Everyone I dealt with along the way at D&H was helpful and courteous. I was nervous about them standing behind their product after reading some of the reviews here but my personal experience was outstanding. I am a very happy customer and would recommend this company to anyone!
