        Kayaked upstream to Beckwith Rd. Quiet forest stream, bit of current due to last night's storm. Saw 3 deer and some muskrats. Nice change of pace from Skokie Lagoons.

        Accessible via a stairway that does not have clear signage of its existence. Look for a gap in the bushes along the trail to find the stairs. There is no real development besides the stairs down to the river. I suppose it is intended that boats be launched from the shore, but there are numerous rocks in the water along the shore which makes launching somewhat challenging.
