I really wanted to give the shop a 5 star rating. I was visiting from Florida last week and my check engine light came on 2 days before we were leaving to drive home. Fortunately they were able to look at my car first thing Thursday morning. Tony first told me I needed a new coil pack for one of the cylinders: I didnt find this surprising since we changed out the fuel injectors and spark plugs a couple months prior and it was mentioned I may need to do that soon. Then he showed me one of the new spark plugs that was put in that had a crack in it: It turned out a couple of them had a crack and he replaced all 4. I was impressed that I was out of there in less than 2 hours. However, later that evening, the light came back on so back to the shop Friday morning, the day were leaving. This time Im told (and shown) the new fuel injector on the same cylinder was clogged. Now Im not a mechanic, so I had to believe what looked dirty was actually bad. Geno called around getting a price for 1 injector and heard him get a price for $90, but when my choices were presented to me, I was told either $120 or $165 (give or take). I happened to be talking to a friend back home (who happens to be a mechanic) and was letting him know what was going on and he told me to be prepared to be there for at least 2 hours for the change out. But I was out in about 30 minutes. For the second day, Im very grateful for the fast service. Fast forward a couple of hours, I stop to fuel up and when I start the car, guess whats waiting for me? You guessed it! My friend the check engine light. I drove all the way home with it on, so that was fun. I took it into the shop today and they are fairly certain they never installed a new coil pack or injector. For whatever reason, the light went off a few days after we got home (nobody cleared it) but theyre thoroughly checking everything. I am not one to say people take advantage of a woman whos alone, but I cant help but to feel this is what happened here. I dont want to believe that because the people were so great. I really feel like I was taken advantage of and ripped off. Not to mention they didnt put the engine cover back on! So now I have to spend even more money on their mistake. This is very disappointing and disheartening and I wish I could have given it the rave review I had initially planned.
I dont expect to hear back from them. I dont even recall being asked for my name or phone number!! But from reading other comments (and I dont typically put too much stock in the negatives for various reasons), I wish I would have gone elsewhere!
