I could not be happier with A Child's Place!!! All the staff are absolutely wonderful! They are so good with the children. My son and daughter love going to school, they hug their teachers every time I pick them up. The staff make it it a point to make sure we are involved in every step of the day. To my children's mood to the wonderful pictures they send me. The front office is wonderful and always keeping me up to date on everything. They go above and beyond to meet my needs. I would highly recommend A Child's Place to anyone. You will not be disappointed. :)

UPDATE: I love that their response has been updated to remove the comment calling me a "disgruntled employee." My review contains my honest experience and I have absolutely no reason to "mischaracterize" this situation for a Google review... After my interview, I was offered a position right away as an interim teacher and was asked to come back the following Monday. Upon returning to the center for my first day, I stood in the vestibule for 15 minutes without being greeted by a single employee. Being that it was my first day, I expected some sort of preparation for my arrival. This was not the case. Instead, after preparing myself to leave, I was greeted by the MAINTENANCE man and was LET IN without answering COVID questions, and if I remember correctly, without my temperature being taken. So, as a place that's supposed to be following CDC and DCFS protocol in regards to the global pandemic, none of those procedures were followed in my case and makes me question the caution of the center. After the maintenance man received my name and spoke with the directors, HE placed me in a classroom; which is where I stayed much of the day. Mind you, I was not greeted by the directors, not acknowledged by them, nor were they prepared for my arrival. They did, however, walk into my room several times to grab children and make comments to the co-teacher, but neglected to acknowledge my presence, or apologize for their inability to do so. I will be the first to say; I understand we are experiencing extremely difficult times and it is especially hard in the daycare setting with children being unable to attend public schools. With that being said, I understand the "hold up" caused by e-learning, but would have appreciated some sort of acknowledgment so that I felt valued for my time and commitment in attending my first day. Instead, I felt ignored, under-appreciated, and utterly uncomfortable with my decision upon taking the job. Despite my own experience, I was also approached by other employees of the center who actually WARNED me not to stay. They made me aware of the (and I quote) "mental abuse," and "exploitation" of the employees by the directors. After hearing stories of several employees, it's clear to see that this center is NOT a good working environment and as a person with over two years of childcare experience (over a year being directly in daycare), I am quite aware of the unfavorable effects that unhappy teachers have on the students, as the children will pick up on their teacher's mannerisms, conversations, etc and will use their negativity to categorize their own experiences within school which can and will have a long-term effect on the children. It's been a month since I have worked there and I have still not received pay. I contacted Francine, the owner, and made her aware of my first day experiences and asked how I can receive my payment. At first, she was entirely shocked by the behavior of her staff and apologized on their behalf. However, after having a meeting with them, she excused their behavior due to e-learning complications (which I stated in my previous email to her that I was understanding of this, but when combined with lack of explanation, warnings from the staff, witnessing poor interactions between the children and the teachers AND getting out late despite my need for a consistent schedule that was communicated during the interview -- they simply are not taking ownership for their actions). Now, after being ignored by the owner herself, and having to contact her once more, I have been prompted to reach out to the director after asking for aid in the situation TWO WEEKS AGO! I have so much more to say, but Google has character limitations...I would not recommend this place for employment, nor childcare, as it is ran by some not so nice people and it is quite apparent in the center's atmosphere...

Id love to leave a great review of the mchenry facility but i cant. Im still waiting on my reimbursement 2months later. Funny how Francine wants her money but cant be bothered to mail out a check when owed to a parent! Francine is the reason amongst other reasons i pulled my son. Will not recommend enrolling here.

I have just been hired at a childs place in Mchenry and I could not be more thrilled to have the position. The staff as well as all of our friends who attend are amazing people. I did not feel like I had drive in my life before this job. Being hired at this outstanding facility is quite possibly the best thing that has ever happened to me. All of our teachers here take their job very seriously and really love our students. I knew since my very first day that I would truly enjoy working here at ACP. I suggest working at ACP and or bringing your children here for services. It is a positive environment while also maintaining Professionalism in our work place. We are not only a very clean facility, but also a safe one. Childrens safety and happiness is our number one priority and all of our staff can agree. I cant thank my directors, staff, children, anybody associated with acp enough for everything they have done for me here.
