Back in March of 2021 I came to this shop to get a silk press and was told over the phone they could do it. I usually went there when I needed my ends clipped and Rabi always did a good job of servicing me so I felt confident to come in and get the service. Upon arrival I was greeted as usual but was told for my hair that I should get a keratin treatment and that it was $400. I was told it would give me a silk and manageable texture for months into the year and I was convinced to get this service as I thought theyve never steered me wrong in the past. It all started well. Wash, deep treatment, dryer, rinse the usual. It was time to blow dry and I was sent to a man that I didnt recognize. This man was so unnecessarily rough with my hair and when I asked him to stop he reassured me that the process was necessary and not to worry. I had never received this treatment on my hair so I reluctantly allowed it to continue. For some reason I just knew this roughness was causing damage to my virgin hair as I could literally hear my strands snapping under the blowdryer. We all know you work your way up the shaft but it seemed like he was just yanking my hair from the root. I asked him to stop again and he got really frustrated. Rabi came over and told me everything would be fine and since I trusted him, I let the man finish. They did the process or whatever and yes my hair was nice so I felt a little better paying and leaving the salon. Remind you it was $400. Rabi asked me to come back the following week to follow up on an appointment. I told him I would but I really felt me heart breaking as I walked out the door. My hair once touched the middle of my back ALL NATURAL and like I said I only went to the shop for a trim every 6 months. Needless to say this was the last time I had ever went to the shop again. I am severely traumatized. I truly believe I have PTSD. It took me 5 years to grow my hair and LIKE THAT it was destroyed. It was stringy and broken all over my head for almost 2 years. NO CURL PATTERN LEFT! Luckily I got pregnant and my hair grew a bunch after my first child so recently I was able to comfortably cut it to right below my ears. I am ashamed of my hair and ashamed of myself for allowing this to happen. My hair should be to my waste instead you can see my whole neck. And PS Ive read so many other comments and YES I believe their shampoo temporarily changes the texture of your hair. I really hate to rate them so poorly because Rabi did such a great job with me but that day has literally changed my life forever and Im afraid to go to the shop at all. Just do the best you can with your own hair. (Im only giving 2 stars for Rabis service but its not enough for what I went through)
