        Updated: Beware Paula. Red flags went off during my consultation with her in December of 2023. When I said I was ready to settle and not spend money I dont have, she said Are you ready to fight." You can always file for bankruptcy." I NEVER hired her. I actually finalized my divorce right after I went with someone else in December. Im watching my friend go through an awful and expensive divorce because of her poor advice and lack of preparation. I believe its on purpose to prolong her divorce and make money. Stay away. And YES Lenia is my real name! Reply to Paula: People need to know what kind of attorney you are. I mean no harm but to inform the public of my experience and what Ive witness. Shame on you Paula for taking advantage of people that are going through one of the most stressful times in their lives. To reiterate, my name is Lenia Solorio and Ive never been your client. I just had a consultation with you in December. Im relieved I didnt hire you, but went with a wonderful attorney out of Crystal Lake. And yes, that is my divorce paperwork- I do have your penmanship you marked on my MSA during my consultation. Which, I know you never provided my friend. Please do not be fooled with the long in person consultation. Its part of her tricks.

        There is not enough words to fully describe how incredibly greatful I am to have been referred to Paula. There was not one point where I felt dismissed, unheard, or not fought for based off my words. Even at the most un pleasant times I was 100% listened to and communicated with. I have never had to obtain an attorney before paula and if I ever were to need one again, Paula would be my 11/10 first choice.       Lenia, (not your real name) thank you for reaching out. You correctly state that you told me that you wanted to settle with your husband. I appreciate and encourage settlements. However, you were demanding that I force your husband to settle on your terms, and that I cause that settlement to happen immediately. I tried to explain to you that in order to settle, you and your husband have to agree. So long as you don't both agree, settlement is not possible. You would not or could not accept that explanation. You also did not wish to settle on your husband's terms. Since he did not wish to settle on your terms, either, there you were. As I told you, I cannot force the other side to want to settle on your terms, and if you do not wish to accept their terms, your choices are to either try and reach a compromise, or to keep fighting with each other. The statement that I was trying to stop your case from settling in order to make more money is simply not true. I believe it would be a fair statement to say that if I could FORCE the other side in a divorce to settle on any terms that my client wanted, I would be the richest attorney around! Instead, in this case, you wanted a settlement on your terms, and your terms exactly and immediately. Hopefully no one reading this response will need me to explain why settlement doesn't work in quite that way. "Lenia," it was an honor and a privilege to represent you during a very difficult time in your life. I understand that during this time, it may feel right to lash out at the people around you because of the fear, anger, hurt and loss that you are experiencing, and even the disappointment and frustration at not getting the exact settlement that you thought you should have, right now and immediately.There are many excellent attorneys in the area, as I often point out.
