Company has a monopoly on gas otherwise they would go out of business. Customer service sucks the automated system doesnt understand what youre saying at all and they cant do something as easy as removing a credit card on file even after passing all their security questions. Terrible

Called Nicor emergency number to report a possible leak when I thought I smelled natural gas in my apartment. They were serious, gave great instructions and immediately sent a technician, even though our maintenance man for the complex said everything was fine. They checked our apartment and it was fine (it ended up being an odor from a grill a neighbor had left on) but they DID find a gas leak at the gas meter in the basement -so the call was not in vain. The first technician called his supervisor and they ultimately determined we were all safe. They were quick, efficient, courteous and calming.
