The Federal Savings Bank

Terrible experience, do not use this bank. It appears TFSB has no internal communication or information sharing system in place. We were asked for the same item multiple times by different people. When we talked with one person that information was not communicated to the other people involved and there appeared to be no central location where all documents and information from an applicant are kept. Even when we were on a call with the builder the person going through the expectations didn't have all the information and another person on the team had to say "no we talked about this and it's ok." We also asked about a month or more before our original closing date if that date was achievable and were told yes. Then about 3 days before the date we were told that date was not possible. We then pushed closing 2 weeks the bank finally had the finished paperwork ready the day before closing or the morning of. We weren't sure we would make the sellers deadline. Had I not searched out information on my own we would not have been prepared for closing. The communication we received when we asked questions was always short and not tailored to our level of knowledge about the process. This was my first experience in purchasing a home, therefore my level of knowledge is pretty minimal and the answers I received were as though our banker were talking to someone who has been in the business for years. I asked once what the down payment was and the answer I received was "Did you see the document I sent?" Despite the fact that the document did not say anything about a down payment, I was supposed to infer this from the abbreviations listed, of which, I knew pretty much none of them. We were also told originally that the down payment required would be 5%. We then found out a week before the original closing date that the down payment required would be 20%.

Went to open a CD. Friendly staff and a very upscale atmosphere. Only downside for this Bank is you have to go in to sign documents.
