        I dropped off my earnest money and after pulling out of the deal it took their office over 2 weeks to return my money. They also returned it to the incorrect person and when I called to ask questions his assistant Jill was rude. I asked for a call back from Patrick and he never called me to offer an explanation.

      I never represented this person. She was represented by her own attorney. The check was returned to her attorney. It would be inappropriate and unethical for an attorney to speak with a person represented by counsel. Here's another misunderstood fact. In Illinois, if an attorney holds money for a real estate transaction, the funds must go into an IOLTA (client fund account) that is regulated by the Illinois Supreme Court. An attorney cannot collect interest on funds held in an IOLTA account. Any interest is swept directly from the bank and sent to the Illlinois Supreme Court managed fund. There is zero benefit to an attorney for offering this service. If she spoke with her lawyer about this, it would have given her a better understanding of the process and why the attorney on the other side of the deal would not speak with a person represented by counsel. I rarely look at google reviews but this deserved a factual response.
