Do not go to the GI. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I went to him for treatment of chronic gastroparesis and GERD. He thought ginger root was good to treat my nausea yet Ive always used Zofran. I wasnt happy with him and decided to choose another doctor. Fast forward a few years later and he was treating my mom who had long-standing GI issues including Achalasia, dyspepsia, GERD, Epiphrenic Diverticulum (surgery in 2008-2009), polyps. He was not aggressive with her preventive treatment / scans - and lead to many misdiagnoses by Dr. Labowitz. She was having issues and contacted his office for A minimum of 2-3 weeks and they wouldnt even consider fitting her in. She went to her PCP who ended up requesting blood tests and ultrasounds with no communication from Dr. Labowitz. She ended up in the hospital on a Saturday and had a PET scan and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. The following Tuesday Dr. Labowitz called and asked what was going on. My sister and I answered the phone and thought he was calling because of her diagnosis, and NO!!!! He had no idea. Same network. He could have opened her chart before calling! This was in 2017. She died 38 days later. Dont waste your time or money.
