Dr. Tina has been my doctor for the last 5 years now and has been taking care of me in an exceptional way. For those who rate doctors because of an insurance issue should go see a psychiatrist or get better insurance.

My husband and I have been visiting Dr. A Zofakis since 2019 every year. My husband was diagnosed with a Type 2 diabetes in 2019. He got his usual check up done in 2020 and was not billed anything additionally apart from what was covered in his insurance. We went for a similar check up in 2021 and he was billed a $350 this time. We are not native Americans and we wanted to understand the insurance coverage and why we were billed this time differently just to understand what we need to be careful of next time. We called up the billing department listed on the bill and talked with a customer support staff but the lady did not have any answer to what changed between 2020 and 2021. So, she advised us to call up the Doctors clinic and understand the procedure. We did that and very politely wanted to ask what changed between 2020 and 2021 for our own understanding and not to evade payment of the bill. We called up the clinic and even without requesting the receptionist to transfer the call to Dr. Zofakis, she did it and we were handed over to talk to the Dr. Doctor A. assumed that we are not willing to pay the bill and kept saying Do not stress me with such questions I have 5 patients waiting with fever. While, we totally understand that but we do request that there should be a proper billing department that can also answer our query. We in the first place never called Dr. Zofakis to waste her time, the receptionist transferred the call to her even without asking us. Also, our intention was only to understand the bill so that we are more prudent next time. Doctor was extremely rude at saying - I understand that your intention is not to pay the bill and in a way she alluded that we are trying not to make the payment this was disrespectful and very deameaning. Since when has asking questions in the land of America become a crime? My husband was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2019 and had a bloodwork and follow up procedure in 2020 when he was not billed, we did exactly the same thing in 2021 but we were billed, so our question was simple - what did we do differently this time? I still do not know. A doctor or a doctors team who do not have or cannot manage time for their patients is a big No for me and hence leaving a 1 star here.
