Ryan Harold, MD

I had the good fortune in early 2024 to have a complete reverse joint replacement by Dr Ryan Harold of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. Since I'd several years earlier had great success with both knee joint replacements (much easier than a shoulder I hear), I was no stranger to this process. And other treatments were no longer effective to treat my absence of cartilage after 60 years of high level tennis. I found Dr Harold (whom I first saw in a great online explanation of the process) tremendously knowledgeable, extremely responsive to my concerns about playing racquet sports again, and diligent and experienced in the latest techniques and alternatives to achieve success. I had no pain during or any time after the procedure, and regained a full range of motion quite quickly (with thanks also to IBJI physical therapists). Having worked with multiple IBJI people for over two decades, I can recommend Dr Harold and the other professionals at IBJI without hesitation, to help effectively deal with bone and joint issues.

Dr. Harold cares about his patients overall well being. Im 6 months post op for a reverse total shoulder replacement. He was as concerned about me at my 6 months visit as he was when I started working with him. I recommend anyone who needs to have this procedure done to anyone who needs to this surgery. He makes time for every question that I ask, what my concerns are, etc. Hes a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Harold is wonderful. I had a shoulder and elbow injury which he treated and is continuing to treat. My elbow is fully back to normal and my shoulder injury recovery will take time and every appointment he does a thorough exam and gives me options and we make a plan. Dr. Harold has a calm quiet manner and I really appreciate that. I would recommend him to anyone!
