Montessori Academy of Glen Ellyn

I loved this montessori school for my two daughters. They learned many life skills and built a natural love for academics. They were able to attend school here as toddlers, the primary room, and the elementary classroom. The loving and caring environment will help any student flourish in this school setting. The outdoor space is amazing. I fell in love with this school as soon as I walked in and appreciate that my daughters were able to grow here.

I have been part of this school for 12+ years as a parent and an employee. My child excelled here; he went from age 3 through the elementary program. The staff are very caring. I have always enjoyed positive communication with teachers and administration. While many Montessori schools carry the name, this one truly adheres to the philosophy. I have been part of both traditional private and public schools prior to this school, and I have been grateful to have discovered this particular school. I would encourage everyone to come visit and see for themselves. Meet the director and staff and observe your child in the environment. See if it feels like a good fit for you. Also be sure to observe the outdoor environment-- not only a great play yard, but also used for gardening and many nature experiments and hikes.

We had our 3 year old son at Montessori Academy of Glen Ellyn (MAGE) and removed him after he came home with a dislocated arm. We understand accidents happen. However, we were not notified of any injury at the time it occurred or when we picked him up. To this day (weeks later) MAGE has been unable to tell us how or when our son was injured that day. Due to our son's age, he was unable to articulate what happened, but it is obviously unlikely he did this to himself. Due to the lack of information provided by MAGE, the pediatric doctor requested x-rays to eliminate the possibility of a broken bone. After x-rays revealed no broken bones, his arm was adjusted back into place. We were asking for 100% reimbursement of the $530 for the x-rays which was our out-of-pocket after insurance, and MAGE denied our request. We are very dissatisfied with how this was handled.

Love this school! Never leaving! My child has been there for 2 years now and we couldn't be happier. They have a huge outdoor nature area with a playground, sledding hills, garden, nature path, compost area... the list goes on. On top of that the staff could not be more patient and loving of all of the children. Annie, the head of the school, is at parent drop off most days and is one of the most wonderful human beings on the planet. Honestly you cannot go wrong by sending your child to school here.
