Dr. VanDorpe is a very caring and knowledgeable cardiologist. My old cardiologist did a stress test and a battery of other test and the diagnosis was that I was “good to go.” Ten months later at my daughters college graduation I had a heart attack. He has been my cardiologist ever since that day. Great bed size manner. I highly recommend his practice.

If you want arrogance if you want someone that talks down to coworkers,with the inability to listen to a patient,, this is your man. Before my heart attack I should have paid more attention I should not listen to a cardiologist that is overweight. 1 heart attack 1 quadruple bypass and a new cardiologist. I am now healthy. The best advice I can give. Use a doctor that can practice what he preaches.

My husband has been a patient of this doctor for many years however in the last three years he has never seen him in person. He always has been seen by his Nurse. All she does is take his BP, heart rate ask him how he is doing and that’s it. It’s a quick buck for Northwestern who has gone way down hill since taking over Delnor and CDH. They no longer provide enough doctors, quality and thorough care with proper follow up. When we first met Dr. VanDorpe he was very kind, knowledgeable, and we felt comfortable. Now who knows??? They have consistently called to reschedule his spots even with the nurse visits and have canceled as many as 5-6 appts in the past 12 -24 months. Why bother going to a cardiologist when you never see him? Our GP could do as much or cares more about following up with his patients than this office. I realize he may be a busy man but, at least see him once a year. Now with Covid-19 they want to have phone visit. How can you check any vitals with phone visit????? The last phone visit with another doctor was $300,00 for 20 minutes????????? This is the first experience with a NW facility and the lack of care. Way before Covid-19 this started and I am sure they will be using that as the excuse. We’re Done!!! Just dollar signs for NW and his office.
