Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa

I did not stay at the Eagle Ridge resort, but I have visited a number of times and it's located in an absolutely beautiful location for a getaway. They were burning a wood fire when I was there and it just smelled so good. I think this is a perfect getaway location, a great place to visit if you like to golf, a fun family vacation resort, or if you're looking to enjoy the downtown Galena area this resort is just a few miles away. Nearby activities: The resort is located in a more rural, forested, dark sky community and community nature preserve. The nearby activities are golf and walking; the historical downtown Galena area is a short drive and it's a wonderful place to stroll and visit. Walkability: If you want to get out and have a trail walk to check out the beautiful nature surrounding the resort, it would be right out your resort door, otherwise you're driving to experience other activities. Food & drinks: The food at the two Eagle Ridge resort restaurants is excellent. Noteworthy details: There are shops and restaurants at the resort.

Update: my husband said The women and the front desk this morning who helped with the refund were apologetic and very kind. Thank you to them for being compassionate! Like I said, goes a long way with me. Ive never left a vacation early in my life. Until this place! I dont know how they can call this a resort. Ive stayed at nicer motels. The room was dirty. We tried to use the jacuzzi tub and dust and debris shot out into the water like it hadnt been cleaned. There was blood on one of the pillows. The room opens up into the outside and we had bugs in our room. Room is very dated and kind of decrepit. My major issue is with the staff, though. SUPER RUDE. I will say the woman who checked us in and the shuttle drivers were great! Their night staff, not so much. Firstly, we got back from town and I inquired at the desk as to when the pool closes. The girl at the desk goes umm you need a room key to use our pool. I was like .okay? When does the pool close? It felt like she thought we were sneaking in. I paid almost $900 for 2 nights. Im not sneaking into your decrepit motel. Also pool area is freezing and so is the water. So I dont recommend. Later, we got a call that the water here is not safe to drink. I had already drunk a bunch of it. We went to the desk to get water and I asked them what the deal was with the water since I drank it. They all started laughing like it was funny and it made me mad. I am having surgery Monday and I cant get sick. They did get more serious when I told them that but I was already livid. I did overreact and said if I got sick I would sue them. At that point I just wanted to go home. I didnt want to risk the water thing anymore than we already had. I called the desk when we got back to our room and told them I knew the water wasnt their fault but their reactions and laughing about it is inappropriate. The girl on the phone (pretty sure the same girl with the pool question) says to me we laughed because you said you were going to sue us. And I told her that wasnt true and in fact my husband recorded the conversation so we could talk to my doctor. I told her I got so angry because they were laughing and not taking it seriously. I told her about the video. She got super sarcastic and went oh do you! Do you have a video? Can you send it to me because I would LOVE to see it. So beyond rude. So I did send the video. Lol. The only good part of this is they did fully refund our stay and we left first thing in the morning. We had high hopes for this place! We were hoping this could be a normal getaway for us. Will never be back here again and honestly its more because of the girl at their front desk than anything else. Had they simply apologized for the inappropriate reaction it would have completely changed my view on this situation. But she doubled down and became even more rude. A simple apology would have gone a long way with me!
