Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Elmhurst/Oakbrook Area

This hotel is a little dated, but clean and comfortable, and priced fairly and lots of parking. Big TV and big room, in a convenient location in Elmhurst, outside of Chicago. I will stay there again when visiting the area. Expect no free breakfast or coffee.

I had a great experience here. My boyfriend and I stayed here because we were going to visit Chicago, ended up loving the Elmhurst/oakbrook area. Theres a great mall down the street we checked out, OakBrook center. Great restaurants around as well. The hotel staff was friendly and I had no issues, beds were comfy. The only thing was our outlets by our bed didnt work, which was annoying. But overall, great hotel.

We stayed here to save 30-40$ over our normal hotel in Oak Brook. Big Mistake. The hotel wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination. I would gladly pay the extra $40 to have a nice quiet stay. It was over St. Pattys day weekend and it was so busy, all night long we heard people walking up and down the halls and doors opening and closing. AND we could hear cars and motorcycles on the highway outside of our window. We even brought a fan and the noise was still awful. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. It could have just been busy because it was a holiday weekend. But it wasn't optimal. You could hear a mouse sneeze down the hall around the corner. In contrast. This past weekend we went to St. Louis and stayed at a Drury Inn and it was right next to a highway as well, but we could barely hear the traffic. With a fan it wasn't a problem at all. The walls and insulation at the Marriott must be paper thin. Oh yeah, the elevator was rickety and shaky and seemed pretty sketchy too. I was on it with a lady and we both cracked jokes about being afraid for our safety. The big plus to this Marriott was that the staff was nice. The gentlemen at the restaurant made us chicken wings about 15 minutes before they closed and they threw in a few extra at no additional cost and the wings looked like something from a fancy restaurant. They were plump and delicious and perfectly cooked. Even last minute magically delicious wings and a nice staff couldn't save this poor at bat. This hotel was a disappointment. Spend the extra $50. You'll be glad you did.
