Holiday Inn Chicago-Elk Grove, an IHG Hotel

I dont understand why this hotel have 4 stars.. Broken lift..leaking water glasses..clogged washroom..No Chanel in TVWorst hotel I have ever seen. Even 3 stars hotel are much better than this. Never ever I will recommend to everyone

This is a nice hotel. Clean. It is a bit old so youd expect the oldness to show in the rooms. Otherwise its great. Clean sheets and towels, no weird smell, amazing staff.

Before reading the details, the main question I want to answer is whether or not Id stay here again. For the right rate, which I felt was very good since it included several days parking while we were on vacation, I would definitely consider booking another room here. Read on if you want more details. We decided to stay here before flying out of OHare. I booked what felt like a very decent rate plus it included several nights of onsite parking so I wouldnt have to pay the parking fees at the airport. I estimate that saved us at least $90. When we checked in, I thought the hotel looked pretty nice. There was an indoor pool near the main lobby. We didnt use it, but I thought it seemed to be well kept. Our stay also included breakfast at the restaurant adjoined to the lobby. I had to ask about that, and the person who checked us in gave me some vouchers to turn in the next morning. The room was a bit of a disappointment. It was on the dark side, so I couldnt tell how clean it was. We did pull out the desk chair and found a food wrapper on it, which did make us question how clean the rest of the room was. Since the shuttle left at the top of the hour, we had to be there for the 7:00 am departure. Fortunately, breakfast opened at 6:30 am. It was basically a small buffet with scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon and so forth. They said waffles were coming out, but I never saw any. While it may not have been anything extravagant, it was better than most breakfasts Ive received at hotels. Since the restaurant is right off the lobby and the entrance, we easily made it out to the shuttle, which left shortly after 7:00. When we arrived back in Chicago, I called the shuttle and was told it would arrive in about 15 minutes. Since we flew Southwest, we were in Terminal 5, and I was instructed to go to door 5E. Technically, its door 5E on the lower level by baggage claim. After waiting about 20 minutes, I thought I had missed the shuttle somehow and was about to call again, but decided to wait. Id say after a total of 25 minutes, the driver arrived, so be prepared that it might take a little longer than predicted. Overall, I was pleased with the stay, but the food wrapper on the chair gave me pause on the cleanliness. Id still consider this location for future stays if I had an early flight from OHare. Rooms: I like rooms that have a little more brightness and to them. Safety: I had no concerns about the safety in the area. Food & drinks: Our rate included breakfast, which I thought was pretty good compared to other breakfast options Ive had. Im not sure that all rates include breakfast, though. This is a Holiday Inn, not a Holiday Inn Express after all.
