Village Pizza and Pub Elgin

I recently had a dinner there with 8 other people. The service was incredibly slow and just horrible. It took over 20 minutes from when we sat down just to order drinks. Then about another 20 minutes to place our dinner orders. The dinner order I placed, the Southwest Chicken Wraps was not only cold but had ABSOLUTELY NO SAUCE !!! Also the fries that came with the meal were over cooked and COLD !!!!! It has been a while since I last visited your establishment because I had a very similar experience. You need to address this.

Was there Monday and I understand if they are short staffed. We waited a little to be seated, no issues. The waitress was nice and prompt. We ordered the calamari. Big mistake. It was one of the worst tasting batter ever. It tasted like a funnel cake. Where we sat was eye shot of the kitchen and I saw them take them out of the freezer. No biggie. When the waitress dropped it off, I swear to god it was onion rings. Dont recommend. My daughter and I got the bbq chicken pizza. Very good. They use sweet baby rays, could see in the kitchen. My boyfriend got a large double decker pizza.. He kept saying something is off, but couldn't figure it out. Later that night he reheated the pizza and realized, no pizza sauce or very minimal. After convincing him to call Village, he did and spoke to a very rude manager. Needless to say, we will not be going back. 1 out of 3 items were good. Im still confused about the cake batter tasting breading on the calamari.

For the second time we got home to find very dry, burnt pizza. Is anyone overseeing take out? Seems not! Sadly, We will be looking elsewhere for edible pizza.

I've had some great pizza here in the past, and talked it up as one of the best in the area. I've always sat at the bar, and had mostly mediocre service that I typically overlook. My last visit was indeed my last. The woman behind the bar set the bar for some of the worst service I've had. I've seen her there before, she wasn't that busy this night and skipping all the detail she was as disinterested as could possibly be in serving us drinks and food. We were both drop-jawed at her demeanor and and that an establishment would allow her to be a front person to customers. Anyway, the pizza eventually came out, and it was unbelievably bad. It was a sausage/pepper/onion that had so little sausage (rip off), and so much green pepper layered over the top (not chopped, not really cooked) that we both agreed it was one of the worst pizzas we've ever had. Every place has off nights, but this was really bad tasting pizza, coupled with horrible bar service. I heard later from other online forums they had recently changed ownership. Good luck, that place is permanently off my list and I'm happy to spread the word of our terrible experience there.
