Honestly hate to even write this. The vets here are great, super kind and caring towards pets. The prices are very expensive, though, and it seems like lately they just want to get a ton of $ from you as often as possible. There's a vet and/or tech visit fee on every appointment, so it seems like they just want to keep you back. Took my senior dog in for vaccines about 2 months ago. Was told they could not administer them all at the same time, and that she would need boosters. But that the last shot she needed could be given with the boosters. Great. Scheduled follow up for boosters. Was there for about 15 minutes, bill was about $400. Okay, great. She needs her vaccines. A couple of weeks later get a notification that she's overdue for another vaccine. When they called, I asked why this wasn't either given or at least mentioned during the booster appointment. The woman just apologized, said that they "know that this is an issue, and will put a note to work on it." Great, so you want me to keep paying you tech/vet visit fees even though you apparently are aware of this problem and keep doing it? Save your money and go somewhere that isn't just trying to keep you coming back 3x in 2 months for routine care.

Brought my Golden Retriever into the office for his first visit at Companion River North and we were welcomed and they have soft music playing, excellent exam rooms, very clean and comforting. Dr. Bryant was amazing and made Beans so comfortable that he rolled over on his back for a belly rub. Results were back quickly! I highly recommend Companion River North.

We have been working with Companion for years, out of convenience, but due to the lack of transparency in pricing weve determined to see another vet. Consistently they would bait a service at one price, confirm another upon arrival, and hand you a bill for double or triple the amount after the services were rendered. For years we just dealt with it and moved on, but its become overwhelming. There are plenty of more honest places in the city, and in our experience, believe it would be worth the extra couple minutes in commute to work with someone else instead. While everyone can understand the business utility in upselling services, there should be a higher standard of care within the vet community - one that balances intrinsic medical necessity with financial logic and duty of care. In our experience, they have consistently hidden fees and created false expectations around costs and outcomes leading to a continuous (and undoubtedly profitable) chase for final resolutions. Unfortunately, they end up being an example of the uglier side of healthcare.

My normal vet cancelled my international health certificate appt day of and Companion Animal Hospital was able to not only schedule me a same day appt due to urgency but also make sure everything was in order. Dr. Kaya Bryant was wonderful, knowledgable and great with my pup. We were impressed with their service and cleanliness. We also appreciated the entire staffs' willingness to help us and understand our needs. The vet techs and front desk staff were also knowledge with their services and friendly. Additionally, communication throughout the process was fantastic. We knew where we stood each step of the way, knew what was needed and they answered any questions. Last thing to note is they are accredited by AAHA. We will definitely be coming back.
