        It's a lovely delight and the grilled cheese is quite tasty, as is the macaroni and cheese. Please note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly if you are looking to enjoy Gayle's Best Ever Grilled Cheese.

        So been wanting to try this place for a long time. I want to first say Customer Service was amazingkudos to the young man that waited on us, super personable. However, when it comes to the food, the price point does not match the quality or portion. The tomato pesto soup was bland. The grilled cheese my friend got was not cooked long enough and for the size and the price, completely inadequate. While we appreciate supporting local farmers and brands which may quantify the pricing, this was experience was subpar. I would say that a revisit of recipes and the assembly of your grilled cheese would be a great start, because the place absolutely has promise.

      Alisha, thank you for your review. While I know you only had the soup with complimentary toast, our soup is made in house not from a can. Most canned soup is heavily salted while we prefer to put the salt and pepper on our tables so you can add your own. I already spoke to my staff about the cheese not being melted all the way so thank you for letting me know about your friends order. Our ingredients are all sourced locally so the cost for the ingredients are much higher than if I used a food distributor. Being in downtown Chicago and paying my amazing staff a livable wage does come into play as well. Gayle
