I felt like I could be myself, and I was in a comfortable place. The entire staff puts you first every step of the way even went above and beyond helping with insurance.

I wanted to LOVE this place. Dr. LaRue was extremely nice and convinced me how important it was to get in with them because there is a such a limited group that specializes in their field. Emailed me back on a Saturday and set me up with an appointment with Rachel. Rachel informed me that the first three sessions would be about family history. Understood. However, I made it a point that I did want some goals/objectives for the next session and at least one coping mechanism for my anxiety. I did not get that, and I know that therapy can be long term, so I canceled my next appointment with her. I got a phone call from Dr. LaRue asking for feedback, and and email from Rachel as well. Both VERY sweet at the time. I informed her that my cousin also has a chronic illness, and to ask myself three questions: 1)Did you feel comfortable talking to her? Yes. Do you feel she has enough experience to help you? No. Did she discuss typical strategies for helping people with chronic illness? No. Dr. LaRue stated that if I would like to get in with someone else at her location to contact her, and that she would be happy to help. They both referenced "vulnerability hangover", which I thought was a little strange. After that, thing tone went south. I contacted Dr. LaRue directly asking for a for a second chance with someone else at her location. I got a delayed response, which is fine, and she told me that she would put me on a waitlist, and contact me when something came up. Eight days later get an email that the waitlist has closed and gave me referrals for other places, and wished me luck finding a clinician. I understand that this is a tough time for everyone, and I will say this was my first therapy encounter, and I just would have appreciated more transparency and that I was actually heard. I think it is strange to sell your practice, and then deny basically. I get it is a hard time for everyone, this was just my experience.
