If Bender Companies buys your complex take pictures of everything! Especially if you live in an older complex. Bender's business model is to buy older apartment buildings cheap. Then they raise the rent by $300 to 500 per month. Forcing most tenants to move. When you do move out they PURPOSELY over charge for everything. Including but not limited to normal wear. Items properly documented as broken when you moved in. Doesn't matter how clean you leave the apartment. They are going to charge cleaning costs. Anything they can do to keep your security deposit they will do. It is there way of forcing the already displaced renter to pay for the apartment remodeling.

I read a previous review stating that the woman working for this company, I believe her name is Erica, is incredibly rude. I had a similar experience with her. During my experience living in one of their properties I was also made to feel that whenever I needed their assistance, it was my problem. My concerns were barely ever addressed. They did not respond to my concerns or emails unless it was to contact me asking me for payment. I would highly recommend avoiding renting under this management company.

My own experience here is really great I genuinely have no complaints about living here its peaceful its quiet the neighbors are quiet and respectful and the property is really clean however I really love the management here and the maintenance here they have done nothing short of going above and beyond to satisfy me as a tenant I really appreciate all of their efforts I genuinely love my place of residence my experience here overall is amazing honestly I dont see any availability on apartments opening up often and that also shows me other tenants love it here as well and they dont have a high turnover rate with tenants I highly recommend this place and the management is spectacular! I moved here from another previous apartment and had a horrible experience and the management here at the governors apartments made this move for me happen not just for me but my children as well and Im forever greatful for her very warm and welcoming and very professional!

I thought that maybe a new management company could potentially benefit the complex I'm at but it has taken the home feeling I've had here at the complex for 16 years. They upped our rent nearly $200 and I understand they wanted to meet the market rent of the city I'm in. It was also disappointing that we can't transfer to a larger or smaller apartment at the complex during our lease anymore which was a reason why so many people have stayed here so long because we had options. I tried to transfer before my lease started this month but because it was already signed back in June because they want you to sign well in advance now I can't. I don't see many positive changes happening and it's now making me think next year I will be seeking a new residence after 16 years here. It's sad and I'll really miss it here.
