Movement Guild is not your average physical therapy office. They go beyond just giving you basic movement exercises to help your condition improve, they also test how your brain and body work together and give you specific exercises that help train your brain to help your body function better too. I would highly recommend working with physical therapist, Erin Schreiber, she has a wealth of knowledge, makes sure you feel comfortable, explains why and how the exercises work, and doesnt give you too much homework so that your recovery is manageable and not overwhelming.

I recently traveled from Houston to Chicago to work with Adam Wolf at The Movement Guild. Why would I make this trip when Houston has plenty of care options? Because while my local efforts with multiple providers to treat chronic foot/ankle pain had lessened the symptoms, 7 months in I remained frustrated by limited mobility and relapsing pain. Thanks to the interwebs, I discovered The Movement Guilds Road to Recovery philosophy and their unique approach to physical therapy which includes remapping of the brain. After communicating with Jessica and Adam about my situation I arranged a four day trip with daily PT sessions. From the initial assessment I knew the trip was going to be well worth it. Adams approach to PT is unlike anything else I have experienced (this was not my first rodeo with injuries and PT). He pinpointed issues no other practitioner had addressed and took actual measurements of foot, leg and hip strength. This gave me quantifiable data and specific goals towards increasing strength. Even better, after the first treatment I had a significant decrease in pain which has continued since Ive returned home. I plan to return in a few months for a follow up assessment. In the meantime, I communicate with Adam about my progress and receive adjunct therapy locally. Would I recommend traveling from out of state for treatment at the Movement Guild? 100% yes! Besides the caring team, amazing results and cute dog (Hi, Otis), there is so much to do, see, and eat in Chicago. PT and touristing - a win-win.
