I recently attended John's Atlanta workshop and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The group was a mixture of beginners and more seasoned photographers like myself, and John explained and demonstrated all of the techniques so that everything was easy to understand, and importantly, possible to replicate with our own equipment. He is also a very kind person, and even ensured lunch worked with my food allergies. I highly recommend his workshop for any photographer looking to up their lighting game!

Attending John Gress's portrait photography workshop was an incredible experience that exceeded all my expectations. If we could give more stars, we would! My husband and I run a photography studio and we knew we needed help with lighting. John came to our studio so we could perfect the set ups in our space. He then taught us 5 amazing light set ups we could replicate for our clients. I have been a photographer for seven years, but I still had a lot of knowledge gaps with lighting as thats a newer realm to me. John empowered me in spite of my gaps and was so patient in explaining and then demonstrating. He never made me feel dumb. And I point that out because sometimes educators can unknowingly do so to students. John was so kind and humble and only ever made light bulbs in my head turn on, and I am forever grateful. Finally, my headshots look the way I have long envisioned them! My clients are impressed with my work; they love their headshots, and I owe so much of that to John! His time, expertise, and the experience he provided was invaluable! Working with John will be one of the best business investments we will ever make and it has paid for itself in just a few short weeks! Best part is that I can confidently book clients for studio portraits and trust I will give them the most amazing portraits, truly all thanks to the knowledge and skill John gave me.
