Many old restaurants are charming because of their age. That is not the case with Gene & Georgetti. The interior appearance almost seems like there is a yellow hue of age. Photos of VIPs who have eaten there would probably not be recognized by those younger that "boomers". The air conditioning (on in March) in the front dining room needs modernization. No table was spared from a direct hit of cold air on seated guests. The larger dining room on the first floor needs an acoustical rework. One large room with no sound buffers makes the conversations of your fellow diners sound like they are surrounding your table.
The service was fine as the restaurant was well staffed. I had a filet and my guest had a chicken dish. Though the food was good, there was nothing special about it to draw me back to dine here again.
