These frames are the BEST! I live in an area with a lot of light and noise pollution. I've been searching for a way to make my bedroom dark and quiet. I've tried storm windows, window tint film, curtains...all sorts of things. Some helped somewhat, but nothing worked very well. I found Alpina Manufacturing via a Google search. Based upon what I saw, I liked the design of their product, so I ordered one frame as an experiment. I thought the price was a little high, but the design looked better than anything else out there. When I received the Storm Snap/Noise Window/Fast Change Frame...whatever you want to call it, I was blown away! The design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality of the product are just amazing! The price turned out to be a bargain, in terms of the value of the product. I ordered the frame without a lens, because I wanted to be able to block all of the light and as much of the noise as possible. The frame turned out to be so sturdy, that I ended up cutting a piece of 1/2" plywood and fitting that in the frame (I had to rebate the edges of the plywood to 1/4", of course). So far, the project has been a smashing success. It seals up tight, blocks all of the light and most of the noise entering through the window, doesn't damage the window frame in any way; and in general is just perfect! I've just ordered the additional frames to do the remainder of the windows in my bedroom. My only regret is that I didn't discover these frames sooner! Thank you, Alpina, for providing such a great product!

I found Storm Snap windows from Alpina while converting my screened porch to a 3-season room - 7 fairly large openings. I was looking for something that would be easy to install and that could be removed during warm weather. Due to the configuration of the room, I did not want sliding storm windows, as I already have screens in place. These worked wonderfully. I had a contractor install them for me, I could have easily installed them myself. Alpina's support staff was extremely responsive to all my questions. I will gladly be a reference for them and recommend these windows to anyone who wants a simple, reasonably priced solution. The solution is simple, yet elegant.
