Carol did our backyard project almost 5 years back. I was looking up her information to pass on to a neighbor and realized I never left a review. She was great. Did an excellent job explaining the pro and cons of our options and her team were completely on point. Very quick, very high quality. We get lots of compliments on her work.

Carol did an amazing job on our back yard. She took a typical ho-hum Chicago back yard and turned it into an extension of our house. She came high recommended by past clients and now I know why. I felt lucky to find her. Carol and her crew built a huge Kentucky blue stone patio, a seat wall, a new back porch and stairs, a new fence and raised beds + they planted everything but the vegetable garden (because I wanted to do it.) She also arranged for an electrician and a plumber for some of the mods I requested. I didn't have to worry about a thing except making a few decisions. Her memory and attention to detail is very impressive. And she has been working with the same crew for decades, so they showed up when they said they would, cleaned up after themselves and worked so hard. I can't recommend Carol highly enough. Our original landscaper executed a creative, beautiful design, but failed to plant everything he promised, Then the stone he used for our patio began to crack and decay because it should not have been used in this climate. I found Carol in 2009 and all became right. She worked with Lurvey to find the right stone and rebuilt the patio. She rebuilt the waterfall and pond with beautiful boulders, creating the mountain landscape I desired. And over the years she's replaced trees and other elements to ensure my back yard remains the beautiful sanctuary we love. I love her creativity and how she listens to what you want, helping you fine tune your vision and keeping it simple enough that you can maintain it easily. And when an emergency strikes, such as the birch that collapsed onto the house or the pond leaks, she's there to help. And Tacho and his crew are wonderful as well....true craftsmen.

We used Heffernan Landscape Design to help create a privacy screen at the back of our yard, to build a new fence and to create and plan a low maintenance garden. Carol's design was pretty and will be low maintenance as requested. Carol has her own crew and who built a very large planter of pavers, installed a cedar fence, prepared the soil and planted the flowers and shrubs. Carol is easy to work with and we were able to go back and forth with her to make a few design changes. Pricing was reasonable, and the crew came back to fix a leaning plant with ten days of my request.This was the first time I used a professional landscaper and initially I was surprised at how small the plants were once installed. However, I am now pleasantly surprised at how quickly the plants are growing and filling in. I would recommend working with Carol over the winter so you can get to the front of the line and have the work done early in the summer if possible. We first contacted Carol in very late spring, signed in June, and the work was done in early August. The entire project took a week.
