I went to 4 different places on jewelers row just to have someone look at and identify a colored stone for me. 1st apt cancelled on me, and the 3 others couldn't help...and while my stone isnt, his place is a true gem! I will be back!

I can't say enough nice things about Professional Gem Sciences. I brought in my sapphire stone that had been cracked by a jeweler in Winnetka. For two years the jeweler had my ring, and in all that time, he never got it weighed or tested. All the while telling me that he was looking for a replacement. The Tasheys tested my sapphire and verified it was a natural unenhanced 8.34 carat sapphire from Ceylon, that had been cracked negligently by applying heat. Because they were unable to give a value of the cracked stone, they didn't charge me for the testing. Up until that point- for TWO YEARS, the Winnetka jeweler was only showing me stones that were significantly less carat size than the one that they cracked. If you want honest, professional analysis, you can't go wrong with Professional Gem Sciences Lab.

We wanted a thorough and professional appraisal of 2 pieces from the 70s.  Price was fair for the appraisal and it was completed same day.  I appreciated their honesty - one piece was not valuable and rather than charging me for a full appraisal they just told me a ballpark figure so I could add it to our homeowner's policy.  Highly recommend!
