image Very peaceful place, very nice gym, great courteous people and a very windy City, it's a good combination.

image The hotel is in a great location near Univ. of Chicago. The front desk was polite. The room was clean. Outside of this, it was a terrible experience for the cost of the rooms. Giving 2 stars for what we got for the price.
Rooms: The room was clean. But could hear other guests outside my door talking, and also hear guests near us when they were running their shower. No breakfast in hotel. Just coffee in the morning. No available free parking unless you park on the street. Which can be hard to find. Once you do, don't move your car. Otherwise it costs $30/night without in/out privileges. To get in/out privileges you have to pay $50/night. Not a big night stand between the bed to place anything nearby. No fridge for food. Does have a safe. Nice view out the windows to the campus and soccer pitch. The was a loud game going on which could hear the people screaming. Sheets on the mattress were small and kept coming off the bed. Nice shower with a strong water flow. Little countertop for sink in bathroom does not give much room for toiletries. And the beds were seriously uncomfortable and the room was very warm. Nice to have a window that could be opened to allow air to come in the room. And the bathroom doors, although frosted, could easily see the people through the door with the mirror right across from the door.
Nearby activities: Museum of Science and Technology was a nice stop. Pretty expensive to go for three people. Overall it was okay. Stopped by 57th Street Books. It was nice inside. Many different types of books for all kinds of people. No one in the store knew anything about things around campus for out of town visitors. Went to Medici on 57th. Had their personal pan pizza and humus tray. It was very good. Went a second night and got their chili burger and it was very average. Went to Plein Air Cafe and it was REALLY GOOD. Very light but filling. Definitely go there!
Walkability: The hotel was within walking distance 5 - 20 mins to many attractions. The University was a 5 min walk. The Museum of Science and Technology was 20 min walk. We didn't end up going, but DT Chicago was approximately 15 - 20 min drive. We did hit a few restaurants and a bookstore nearby.
Food & drinks: Restaurant in hotel Truth To Be Told was ok. Opened early at 7AM. Food was good, but nothing to rave about. We were there on Friday 3/29 morning. Thankfully we got there when they opened, because they had one lady as waitress working the whole floor, and there was no way for her to keep up with all the people waiting. The price for 3 people was about $60.
Noteworthy details: Hotel very close to Univ. of Chicago. Within walking distance of the college. Staff was polite. Room was clean. Many other things that were not good about the room. See the rest of the review.

image No double queens! Only has full size for doubles.
Aside from that, they were very accommodating in helping us switch rooms. The rooms with a "study" are very spacious.

image We stood at the hotel during my heart surgery. This is the only one hotel on campus. It is about 15 mins walk from the hospital. Hotel itself is very nice and clean. There are two small restaurants nearby. The major benefits of this hotel is its staff.
The staff here were phenomenal, flexible, kind, friendly, and caring. All our requests were completed immediately. We needed clean bed's linens and towels evey day after surgery - no addtional questions asked. We received complimentary microwave, coffee maker, refrigirator, and a kettle.
The only disadvantage is no close market store to buy products. However, you can order them through Amazon Fresh.
We will need to come back for follow up in one month - definately we will stay in this hotel agan.
