Well organized and familiar for the time being... I have to declare a bias as I worked for Jewel Food stores in SoCal after the Marines then relocated with my union card back to my hometown of Chicago and continued my employment here. That was '87 and the thing that I like about Jewel despite many owners is the predictability. Prices are not the cheapest but they do try to pay an actual living wage with decent benefits. I will pay to provide for long-term staff. Sufficiently staffed store and good ratio of employees to customers. No wait to check out. Going away thanks to Mariano's looks like. Joining A&P and Dominick's in grocery store heaven. That's life. -Update... Still Jewel but not so much I guess. Starbucks, new floors, everything rearranged to force the Shopper to spend more time looking and run into more things that he or she did not intend to buy but end up doing so anyway. Clever but frustrating. Same only different. Still union, still shopping here.

This is the most convenient store for me to go to. Its right down the street. Its ok, their selection on some things is great, but produce isnt one of them. It has improved since they redesigned the store. I come here at least three times a week or more to pick up last minute things for dinners.

I was able to find everything I needed & wanted with no problem. The staff were helpful & friendly. The store was clean & orderly.
