I came into contact with this firm because I contacted another firm in Chicago and their plate was full and referred me to CTM. I had a landlord that didnt give me my deposit back and I had 100s of pictures proving I deserved my deposit back. They handled the case with my old roommate and I. We only answered a few questions over email, submitted our info we had, did a zoom call, and showed up to one court date and we won. The lawyers, Conor and Sarah, were very prepared, very professional, very down to earth and comfortable to talk to, and very organized. We won double our security deposit and my landlord has to pay our lawyers fees. If we hadnt won, their services wouldve been free anyways. So technically, regardless of the outcome, I wasnt going to have to pay for their services at all. I also referred them to my friend so she could break her lease in Lincoln Park. That landlord hadnt fixed her heat the whole two weeks it was in the negatives in Chicago. I think for $1000ish bucks she was able to break her lease, legally, half way through her lease term and move. She is also very happy with their help and the result of her move. I highly recommend this firm for anyone who is having tenant/landlord issues.

I highly recommend this group, particularly Bill Tasch. During our consultation over the phone, Bill was clear in setting expectations, communicating fees, and working out what I needed to provide to have a successful case (I was previously Pro Se). Invoices were brief, itemized, and descriptive so I knew exactly what I (eventually, the defendant for attorney fees) was paying for. Throughout the pandemic, Bill was responsive and persistent with the court, and we finally got a favorable ruling. Overall, Bill was personable, respectful, and incredibly competent in the court and in communicating with me. Thank you, CTM!

In a 15 minute consultation, Cassandra was able to give me very useful information about how to proceed with my landlord issues. I didnt end up hiring her services but was so grateful for the guidance. You can tell that this firm cares about tenants and their rights, which is not an easy find in Chicago. Thanks again!
