My husband died last year with our taxes halfway completed. Someone recommended that I call John for help. He was wonderful and patient and worked with me to help me finish the job. This year I was confident in his work and asked him to do my taxes and I'm to receive a refund of nearly $4000! John also served as a consultant for an unusual real estate transaction. I'm very glad to have someone I trust to handle my tax needs.

I contacted John on February 23rd to ask for help with my taxes this year. I assumed my situation was somewhat complicated and asked if he had time for a new client. He assured me "sounds easy enough" and sent me a link to upload my documents that night. Over the following few weeks he asked for another document or two. I also added something in the middle of march. These were some additional expenses I thought could be written off. I added them all up and provided totals along with receipts apologizing for the late addition. I mention this because this is perhaps the reason for what follows? I have no idea, because I have received absolutely zero communication from him. Two weeks before tax time (5 weeks after engaging John's services) I started getting a little nervous about everything as I still did not have anything, no estimated taxes, no estimated costs, no estimated time to completion. I asked if he knew when things would be completed. I waited a few business days and followed up again. Another polite message asking if he knew when things would be completed. Another few days I expressed my concern with timing and if he was still working on these. No response to any of these messages. He disappeared. Now I am scrambling to figure out how to get my taxes filed. If he had been a proper professional, he would have communicated at some point. He did not, not through the secure communication server he provided, not through a phone call, not through a text message, not even through Linkden. I mention Linkedin because he was very quick to add me there and he still posts regularly (which killed my theory that perhaps he suffered an accident or something). I left several messages and tried calling him to find out what is going on. His voicemail is full and he doesn't respond to messages. Don't waste your time. I have no idea why John told me he would work with me as a client, then disappeared. I was given no feedback or warning whatsoever.
