Took my car in here because it was having some trouble starting up. They did the diagnostic and told me I needed a new battery and a new water pump. Suggested an oil change which I was admittedly overdue on. They tried to sell me new brakes and tires as well which is a hard sell to just throw in on the end of things and wasnt really related to the issue at hand. A month later now and my car is still having the issue. They replaced what they said they'd replace but I paid roughly 1300 to not have my problem actually solved and that's a price you think you wouldn't have to gamble on.

I liked this place at one time because they generally do good work. Unfortunately, I became a victim of price gouging. SEE THE UPLOADED INVOICE and YOU BE THE JUDGE. They will take advantage of you if you are not careful. I dropped my car off at this place for a Check Engine Light issue. They called me to inform me of the codes that came up. I made the mistake of giving them my credit card information over the phone, and they took full advantage of that. When they called me to pick up my car, they made sure to call me at a time when none of the mechanics or manager was there to be questioned. What's worse? I was told I had to pay a balance of $83 before I was handed the keys to my vehicle. MY ADVICE? If you need service done to your car at this place, get an estimate, but always buy your own parts. MY TIP? If it's a mechanical part you need, always buy a remanufactured part, because these are the parts in which systemic issues are identified, re-engineered, and replaced with superior components (i.e., starter, water pump, fuel pump, solenoid switch, sensors, transmission, etc.). There's nothing you can do about the labor they may charge, but buy your own parts, and pay for the service when you pick up your car. So, I called Auto Tech and told the manager I wasn't happy about the price gouging on the parts, and I also informed him that my Check Engine Light came back on a few days later. After "repairing" my car, they simply disconnected and then re-connected the battery terminal to get the light to go out. I know this was the case, because I had to reset my clock on the dash. All the manager/supervisor said was, "Well we can talk about that." What I didn't tell him was that I planned to do my talking in the form of a review, and I would take my business elsewhere. SO AGAIN, Auto Tech Auto Repair mechanics generally do good work, but the price gouging discouraged me from ever being a customer again. They fixed some of the Check Engine Light Codes, but not all of them. I took my car to Midas at 7137 S. Western Avenue where they completed the work. Kudos to the guys at Midas. These mechanics are like surgeons for your car. If there's a hard-to-find-problem, they will find it and fix it.
