Location is great and the service too - you have the 76 diversey bus just outside which is very convenient. Building is very well kept and the professionalism of the staff makes it a very welcoming experience.

My 91 year old disabled mother, with SSI/SSD fixed income, was discriminated against. The website states that priority will be given to disabled senior citizens, who are on a fixed income, regardless of whomsoever applied for an available apartment first. My mother is a participant of the Chicago Housing Authority voucher program, and provided all the necessary documents, and the $24.00 money order along with her application, which was accepted by the representative on 10/13/2022. She had first seen the available one bedroom apartment, which at market value is listed at being $900.00 a month, which the apartment where she lives now is $1200.00, and the C.H.A voucher program was paying that for 6 years, now sincecthey thought she was accepted at the Aurea E. Martinez Apartments, they are stopping her rent at her current address, and will start paying the $900.00 at the 5525 W. Diversey apartment complex, ecen though she has been denied her application, and was told to pick up all of her submitted documents, application fee, and application, as though she had never applied. We have filed a discrimination claim with the Fair Housing and Urban Development U.S Department of Housing, office of Fair and equal opportunity, Ralph H. Metcalfe Federal Building, 77 W. Jackson Blvd room 2201, Chicago Illinois 60604-3507. Stand up for your rights, especially for our vulnerable disabled senior citizens, of Chicago Illinois, County of Cook.

The residents are mostly Latino Hispanic and are extremely racist and prejudice against the very few Black residences that stay here and they freely show it. I feel sorry for them. There's a gang member next door to me and he plays loud music all throughout the week and nights. This place just accepts and keeps all sorts of obnoxious characters. It is 2am now and the bass of the music is vibrating the walls. The walls are very hollow with a poor foundation so don't plan a murder. A lot of arguing in the units 24/7. You can hear every detail of the arguments and know if it's a domestic violence situation, a family dispute, fighting, someone getting caught cheating on their partner, or a custody battle. Management doesn't get involved and doesn't enforce rules. My advice run and look elsewhere.
