Miscommunication and misinformation caused me to wait for sessions to begin for 3 weeks. When it finally came time to become part of a session, the counselor holding the session never sent me the necessary tools to properly join the session so I had to contact the facility numerous times the day of my session. When I finally joined the session, the microphone and speaker were not working properly and I could barely hear the conversation. My counselor giving the session also had no accountability when I addressed not setting me up for success for my session and not providing the necessary tools to join. One week later I attempted to begin sessions again and yet again I was not provided the necessary tools to join my virtual sessions. 4 weeks is too long for someone in need of addiction therapy for anyone but especially from a company who is benefiting financially. This is not pro bono work. This company does not care for the mental and physical well-being of potential clients. This company does not care about people who are seeking help for addiction. Seek help elsewhere.

Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

I stumbled through AA 12 step programs, rehabs, for years, so archaic, so out of date!!! Read William Porters, Alcohol Explained. Kept me sober, and I am not powerless nor diseased!!! Save your money and dont go to an AA 12 step rehab!!!

Overall a good experience. The quality of care and counseling was very good. But on occasion, I found HBF to be somewhat disorganized and at times I had to follow-up on certain tasks/activities which in my opinion I should of not had to do.
