Easy Wash Laundry

TL,DR: An acceptable, kindof dingy laundromat with machines that function well, but a profoundly unwelcoming atmosphere. Not very clean. The full breakdown: I've visited this laundromat several times now after moving to the area, initially to do laundry when my apartment machines broke down and now more regularly to save time and avoid frustration with cheap apartment machines. Thus far I have not had a machine break on me, lost my money, or had clothing damaged, and everything appears to come out clean and dry. The reasons I dock two stars are 1. The floors and bathrooms are absolutely filthy, covered in dust, hair, lint, threads, and polystyrene fragments. 2. The overall atmosphere and "decor" here is profoundly unwelcoming. Plastered across the walls, windows, doors, machines, and displayed in signs atop the machines, everywhere you look, really, are boldly lettered signs featuring a grand total of 25 different rules, regulations, "Do Not Under Any Circumstances," and reasons why your money will not be refunded. There are security cameras everywhere, detailed explanations of why the doors automatically lock at 10PM, and even padlocks on the toilet paper rolls - I'm not kidding. My personal favorite is a sign offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone taking the flowers growing out back. I'm not sure what traumas the owners have gone through, but all of this feels excessive; it's a laundromat, not Fort Knox, and even if it is all nessecary, it's all so aggressive and unwelcoming that it makes me, someone just trying to wash his t-shirts and socks, feel unwelcome. As icing on the cake, the magazine basket in the back corner is laced with an assortment of racist and homophobic fliers and literature, which I find grotesque. I'll do my laundry here, but it brings me no joy.

I had to stop the wash. I called Midway because I forgot to put something in and it wouldn't let me continue my wash cycle without putting in more money.

Easy Wash Laundry in Charleston Illinois took care of our laundry needs. We were hoping to finish our laundry quickly and Easy Wash came through for us. Id won a bag of quarters in a dice game with my family and that pretty much took care of our 3 loads of wash. Our laundry came out clean and we felt safe in the environment. There is seating inside and working change machines. There are also detergent and fabric softener dispensing vending machines. They have a soda and snacks machine as well. You can trust your clothes to Easy Wash Laundry.
