Sherman Hall

I know this review may be a little bit overdue I lived there for one full year between the fall of 2009 and the spring of 2010. Sherman was the absolute best student residence ever. There was such an international mix: people from Italy, Spain, Lithuania, India, Japan, Mexico, and the US. Unmatchable crew! You cannot find such melting pot anywhere else in UIUC. Also, it was so close to Joes - the coolest bar on 5th St., specially on Tuesdays Sherman had such great study spots if you wanted to score A+ on every subject. Great staff, great location, great facilities, and great people The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the quality of the mattresses and the size of the beds.

Do not live here if you are a light sleeper. Also, do yourself a favor and get an apartment with some roommates online or with friends. Youll save money and itll be better for your mental health than living here. I lived here in 2015 when I was a junior at UIUC. Terrible. That was the year I was the most depressed and suicidal. Probably because I stayed in a building like this. Social life is dead. Nobody wants to talk. Walls are paper thin. If you want friends, dont live here. If you are a loner and dont want friends, live here.
