Bad advice. I was unemployed and when I finally got a job it was out of town. I notify my landlord who promptly tried to pull some legally shady stuff. They essentially advised me to just give in and pointed me to lawyer who didn't even do tenant representation. I got a good lawyer who said it would be an easy win if it came to it but let's mediate first. Landlord's caved. Notified the tenant union to just keep them updated. They insisted the lawyer who specialized in this was wrong and my landlord wasn't shady. Just plain bad advice and typical misogyny.

Mick is the greatest he went above and beyond for me. The house I was renting had a sewage problem and I had to move. Mick talked to the landlord, Urbana county, Champaign county, to get things moving. He did not miss a step and he helped me move my stuff out. There is no one in Champaign County that will fight for your rights like he will. Mick is a blessing if you ever need help he is the person to go to. GREAT GREAT JOB

Went into the union office and spoke with mick about an issue at my apartment where the maintenance men unlocked my door and attempted to come in without the required 24 hour notice. Mick was not very helpfulor knowledgeableabout my rights as a tenant, and I had to explain to him that this was not legal. After he made it clear he personally knew the property manager at my building, he continued to talk me out of breaking my lease and moving. He asked me highly inappropriatequestions that had nothing to do with my apartment issue (such as, specificallyasking if I was in my 20s, and inappropriate personal questionsabout my living habits). Additionally, he also put his hand on my body, which he would not have done if I were male. This inappropriate behavior is unacceptable and I do not recommend being alone with him. Major creep, ladies watch out...
