        A true model for local, strategic economic development, the team at Champaign County Economic Development Corporation are incredible champions for the C-U region. I've had the absolute privilege working with Carly and her team and especially love their approach to new resident welcome strategies, notably the fun, engaging and data-driven "Chambana Welcome Crew." In tandem with the local convention and visitors bureau, Experience Champaign Urbana, the Champaign County EDC takes a real grassroots approach to talent attraction, including with quarterly "New to CU Mixers" at dynamic spaces like craft breweries. I've found the "Chambana Proud" podcast (also a partnership with the Experience Champaign Urbana team to be an invaluable resource to discovering all that the region has to offer. Much larger cities in Illinois and the Midwest (notably the Chicagoland region) can and should take a page from this collaborative entity.
