The Next Step Dance Studio

We went here for a little over a year and a half, did 2 showcases with them and honestly over time I just kept becoming more disappointed with everything. At Next step I always felt like the communication was not there. I also felt like she was never learning anything new. I also felt like the staff wasnt the nicest, and sometimes unprofessional. I also felt like they were sitting around talking for so long for a 30 min class. We had some issues with ordering videos of performance through them, I didnt even get the video I paid for till like 10 months later and they were rude about it and kept asking for proof that I paid for it, then never even apologized for the lack of communication on their side. I switched my daughters to another studio in town and and we are way happier there and have met multiple other moms that started at next step and left for all the same reasons. I would not recommend this studio.

We have been at Next Step for over 5 years. We love it! We have tried several other studios in town over the years, but have never found one we felt was as strong as Next Step. Weve seen all variations of teachers at these other studios, all were very hands off, the students were not productive and the teachers were not positive towards the students. At Next Step, our daughter has learned teamwork, dedication, and that hard work can be fun. The teachers are compassionate, well versed in instruction, and great with the students. They have a wonderful rapport with the parents, are genuinely positive and visibly happy when they are with the kids! They are constantly available for information, you can ask questions and be as involved as you want to be. We have seen our daughter grow in confidence and stamina. She now gets sad when there is a week off class! Shes gone from not being able to somersault to now learning aerials! She had never danced before and now she is doing tendues in front of the tv while she watches shows, making up dances in the yard and has been organizing dances with her friends! Its been a wonderful experience and we continue to be impressed with the creativity, production, and positivity from everyone at Next Step. I recommend everyone try Next Step no matter what level of tumbling or dance they want to do! Start them off on the right path where they can start dancing, or continue dancing learn and have fun. Its the most important part, they are kids, and they should be having fun! Thats why we will tell everyone to try Next Step!

When we first came to Next Step we enjoyed it, and then it became worse. My daughters recital costume was misplaced, everything you ordered for the recital showed up way late. We were told different things from different people that didnt match up. They fired my childs teacher a week before the recital, and didnt even refund us anything we paid for. My daughter is a toddler and wasnt going to be able to go up on stage without a familiar face so we didnt get to experience the recital this year. It was not the best year , and we ended up switching studios. We now go to ascension dance academy. The preschool program with Heather was great during the days. The dance experience was not great. The front desk also could be really rude at times ,depending on who was working. I came in to pick up a T-shirt that was ordered and they couldnt find my daughters order, and they acted as if I was my fault. I can say we are happy with the new studio.

My daughter has taken Ballet here over the past year and I was so pleased with her progress. She took at another studio years ago and had a couple years of a break before finding The Next Step Dance studio. They were able to quickly place her in the correct Ballet class for her skill level and she really enjoyed her experience. She learned so much and really enjoyed seeing old friends while dancing in the showcase. They give so many opportunities to parents to help save on fees and there are always extra things going on such as Truck for Treats in the fall. Don't hesitate to go dance here! Darcey, Regina and staff are amazing! Thank you for a great experience.
