They may do good work, however their drivers are rude and reckless. Driving down 90 heading east he was doing at least 90mph while pulling a trailer, cutting people off. When it was time for a merger he would not let anyone in. Just rude driving.

Renaissance recently completely reconstruction work on our nearly 100-year-old tile roof. As a homebuilder, real estate developer and now long-retired software entrepreneur for longer than I want to remember, I do remember that it is very rare that I get to write a thank you letter because of a job so well done that I dont know where to begin.
The background: We have owned a 116-year-old beautiful Queen Ann farmhouse in rural Ottawa, Illinois for the past 18 years. It had the original Ludowici Terra Cotta tile roof in reasonably good condition. In August of 2020 a terrible storm came through multiple states and did a great amount of damage in the Ottawa area. After almost two years of struggling with the insurance company about the extent of damage to the roof, your Greg Derry, as an expert rep for Renaissance, hired by the insurance company, came with other experts in the Fall of 2021 to survey the damage and recommend a settlement which had become rather heatedbecause of the importance of that roof to the architecture of the home and the steep replacement cost. Fairness is often enhanced by expertise in the world of insurance settlements. Gregs fair and accurate assessment of damage allowed us to settle with the insurance company, and they agreed to a complete roof replacement, and that included all the tile, flashings, valleys, and built-in gutter systems. Though the independent appraiser that I had hired to represent me and had good knowledge of historic Ludowici roof systems, I decided to work with Renaissance because of the impression and caring and professional attitude that Greg represented.
After ordering materials and complete scaffolding of the home, the work commenced, with Project Manager Tom Bunders and Foreman Ray Kamppainen leading the charge of field work that lasted for several weeks throughout the Fall of 2022. While I cant say enough good things about these three gentlemen, everyone I worked with-- whether phone, email, text, or in person--couldnt be more professional and accommodating. Each one of them exhibit pride in their work, and each one of them expressed pride in their company. I will say from personal experience in the trades that that is rare in todays world. These folks arent just tradesmen, they are expert craftsmen, and they are the kind of folks that the world needs to keep some of our beautiful architecture alive.
Thanks to Renaissance for being in this business, and thanks to your Team that made it happen for us. They didnt cut corners, and they kept a safe and immaculate job site each day. The copper work done by Ray and his team was just amazing. Keep up the good work and consider me as your very satisfied and thankful customer. I am so proud of that roof that I will personally give tours and answer questions of any future prospective customers. It is easily the most beautiful roof in Ottawa. Thank You.
