I would not recommend going to them. We were charged an insane amount, and our taxes are not that complicated. I dont know anyone who was charged as much as we were. And on top of that she didnt even try to build rapport or a relationship in the slightest. We will not being using them again.

First time not filing taxes through TurboTax. I didn't know what to expect, but not what we got. In talking with family and friends, I hear that they typically spend between $200-350 to file their taxes, similar circumstances to ours. We had to pay $540. That's fine in the sense that people will charge what they believe they're worth/what is reasonable. It was explained to me by Leslie that there were certain circumstances that were not as common regarding our return that raised the cost, that's fine, I get it. Here is my issue: Another reason that we paid so much is because it was our first time filing and we had a meeting. This meeting took no more than 10 minutes, consisted of general niceties and my wife and I handing Leslie our documents, and her telling us 2-3 more documents she still needed. Out the door, goodbye. That was hardly a meeting. Again, first time not using TurboTax, don't know what to expect. Perhaps a bit naive and ignorant, but I thought it'd potentially be the start of a financial relationship for the rest of my life, that eventually extends beyond simply just tax returns. I DID NOT FEEL INVITED/WELCOMED. Strictly business, and then to tell me you're gonna charge me more because I wanted to hand deliver the documents and meet you? C'mon.. Lastly, and I take partial blame in this, but at NO POINT was the price to file communicated to us. I know I could've asked, but I didn't think about that until I got the bill. I think it's a professional best practice to communicate what you intend to do and what you expect as just compensation. 2 Stars because Leslie always communicated professionally and concisely, and responded during weekends to questions I may have had.
