I hired frank for emergency repairs on my truck after I broke down in mountain home on my way to respond to an emergency deployment on a wildfire. He claimed I needed a new engine and I was in no position to ask for a second opinion while fighting fires in the Oregon wilderness. He had my vehicle the entire summer while I was gone for fire season and held it nearly 2 months past the expected date of completion. Every few weeks when I asked for a status update it was always a new excuse. When he finally "finished" I flew in from out of state to Pick up my vehicle and return home and he was somehow still not ready. I too it on a test drive and it immediately broke down as he had not set the timing and there were multiple vacuum leaks which should have been done as part of the job. The next day after he swore it was finished I took the vehicle and it broke down again an hour outside of town, too far to return to his shop. I took it to a second mechanic who found he had installed wrong parts on my vehicle, broken sensors durring the instalation of the engine, multiple vacuum lines disconnected or connected in the wrong placed, and frank even admitted to installing an air intake hose from the wrong make and model onto my truck to get me out of his shop faster. The second mechanic said it was a miracle the truck was running at all. The cherry on the cake was he illegally removed my catalytic converter and straight piped the exhaust resulting in a new massive exhaust leak and is now claiming I never had one to begin with despite me having photos to the Contrary. I now have to spend more time and money to fix everything he has broken, neglected, or installed incorrectly. The quality of the work is trash, and he passed off the incomplete job thinking he could get away with rushing me out the door and down the road. Please find someone else to give you money.

I called well over a dozen mechanics in this small town of Mountain Home, and no one could work on my car until nearly a week's time...until I called Frank and Kevin at Bastida Auto. These are two salt of the earth types who know their stuff and put in a hard, honest day's work. I broke down out of town and was stranded. As soon as I arrived, they put my car at the front of the line and had me out in record time. If you're in the area and need work done on your car, this is the place to go!
