Enoteca

We had diner there last night. They had a horrible thumping base sound coming through their speaker system. I ask the manager what the sound was about and her reply was that's our music ? The people at the table next to us were also very disturbed by the sound and informed us that they would not be eating there again because of the horrible vibrating base noise. After asking twice about it, it continued throughout our dinner. We have been regulars at Enoteca since their opening but was very disappointed this time.

Food and service were both approaching top notch for our visit tonight (but not quite)... I had the pork scallopini with asparagus and polenta, and it was fabulous. My wife had the trout with salad and said she enjoyed it. We shared the buratta with focaccia as a starter, which was good, but could have benefitted from some more tomatoes and fresh basil to marry with the abundance of cheese and bread. We also shared the chocolate budino for desert, which was just plain delicious. A couple of somewhat nit-picky things are that the tables for two are pretty close to one another, so it's really tough to have a private conversation. Also, we noted that the guy making pizzas was grabbing the wood for the oven and then going directly back to his pizza making, no gloves, etc. Just firewood to table pizza magic. Overall, I would give Enoteca a solid 4.5 stars if that were an option.

We had the pizza special and the duck confit. All the parts of the pizza were very good, but the combination was not the best choice. The duck was delicious and had great texture. However, the side was a bit mushier than I had hoped. The atmosphere was excellent and so was the service. Just wished the food was as good.

Not many restaurants deserve this rating and I almost never give them. The food was perfect. We split a roasted veggie salad and the Idaho trout. The salad had just the right amount of tanginess and the nuts and veggies gave it flavor. The fish was hot, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Delicious! That said, the service put this restaurant over the top. Its rare in a touristy area to find professionals who know how to direct a lot of traffic! Not sure about the name of the host..I think it may be Oliver. He was fast on his feet and knew how to manage a huge crowd at the door without forgetting anyone. He also knew how to engage his staff to help. The bar manager, I think her name was Joann is probably the most professional server weve met in this country since before COVID. It was the little things that she knew how to do and her confidence in dealing with all of the guests, not just us - that made her so good. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
