Our provider cancelled his first appointment twice in 2 weeks because he was sick. He was only sick off and on and saw other patients between episodes. I found out he really was sick, but it was a month since we were referred here before we were seen. I understand that there is a severe shortage of psychiatrists in Eastern Idaho, so Im grateful we were able to be seen, but we felt my dad was in urgent need of medication regulation after 3 ER visits, so it would be nice if the office could get him on the cancellation list for another worker and have a little more sense of urgency for him to be seen, like ask another worker in the office to make a special accommodation to see him sooner when they cancel. Also the receptionist told me that my parents had been in there before and could have signed a release of information to speak with me, but my parents had never been there before and they refused to tell me how I could get a release of information emailed to my dad so I could find out why my dads appointments kept being canceled. The nurse practitioner Birkel was great and patient.

Ascend Mental Health in Idaho Falls has changed our lives. We were in a dark place before testing with Dr. Neilson and visiting psychiatrist Dr. Larson. Our son was in BHC and violent toward us and his peers. Ascend has brought light and knowledge into our family. Medicine for mental health has been a game- changer! My son is doing so well that we are now weaning him off the medicine. Thank you, Ascend Mental Health in Idaho Falls!

Dr Jason Simpson has been a life changer , he listens and. I mean truly listens ! I dont know where I would be without him !
