New customer, came her for my two dogs. I accidentally brought in the wrong dog for the first appointment (had them mixed up on my calendar). To reschedule I'd have to replay my $50 deposit fee I already paid for both animals. So $100, then another $100 due to a reschedule. Should be obvious why I'm upset. I made an honest mistake and this company decides to punish the customer for it with fees. This puts the customer in a very awkward situation, as well as the receptionist who has no power over the situation. So the employee has to hear a customer complain about a policy they can't do anything about, while the doctor sits in the back. Put's both parties in a bad mood. Clearly management isn't the best here, thus I will not support their company. ------------------------------------------------- Edit: Adding context as the company has tried to defend their actions in their reply. Yes, I did cancel the first appointment, because I got sick. Charging a client for that would certainly have been unjust. Luckily they did not charge me. When I rescheduled, it was for 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM the same day. I mis-inputted the 1:30 to 12:30 on my calendar. I did not purposely do this in hopes that I would get in an hour early. And yes, they did offer a drop off but at a ~$90 fee. And I was going to reschedule the 4:30 PM anyway due to a work. Either way, the problem is I'm being fined for things outside of my control, plus an honest mistake. There was no meaningful attempt from the company to work with the customer for these rather reasonable reasons why I needed to reschedule. Notice how they left details out and also used guilt-based examples in their reply to improve their image. Some doctors are strict with scheduling, as they think their time is more important then others. Funny enough this place doesn't have text notifications, which would make it easier to communicate and confirm schedules (for example, if they sent a text with the times I would have noticed it said 1:30 PM and I would have fixed my calendar). They only do calls, which is not as reliable due to not always being around to answer the phone plus all the spam calls many people tend to get throughout the day. Overall, I think my 1 star review is justified.

Alpine Animal Hospital has been excellent for our rescue dog for more than 6 years now. Dr. Bailey is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. In addition, the help from the techs and other staff has been outstanding. I highly recommend Alpine Animal Hospital!

I have brought my dogs here for several years and truly always had a positive experience, untill it was time to say goodbye to our dog of 17 years-( although they paperwork they had printed was incorrect and made her 15 years old). The vet confirmed our fears- "horrible arthritis" in hips, knees, etc., Inability to hear, Inability to see much, and signs of dog dementia (she often dosnt know where she is and panics). They vet told us she had glaucoma and it was likey very painful and causing her eyes to protrude. We reiterated we were prepared to say goodbye and had no interest in doing ongoing pain management or anything to prolong life. At this point the vet told me we could probably get A FEW MORE YEARS out of her... and then went directly into testing, pain management, etc. We again said we didn't want to do that. She replied with "if your dog can do 10 things she enjoys" then we shouldn't put down. I said she does nothing because she can't see, hear, or walk. The vet responded with "she still loves being with you!" At this point the vet and her assistant kept going on about how cute my dog was over and over and over, gave her pain medication, and sent us home with more meds. They didn't give us anything information on euthanasia- essentially decided for us and felt like they pushed two really vulnerable people into something they didn't want to do- because I couldn't argue to kill my dog- and they put us in that horrible position. Ultimately all my dogs issues will only get worse, never better. So now we have added additional suffering for my dog, for us, and twice the cost to give her peace. So now I'm dealing with putting my best friend of 17 years down again, it's the hardest thing I've even had to do. We left feeling like our feelings were disregarded because "shes so cute" and a bit manipulated by the "but she still loves you comment" because who says that to a crying dog owner who asked for euthanasia?? This will leave long lasting greif and pain for our family, and it didn't have to be this way. EDIT: its been a year since this event and our dogs death....Alpine just sent us a reminder to bring her in for dental cleaning... take note they haven't sent us anything like this for our living dog. Completely ridiculous. The office called me multiple times a day for weeks and then got my husband's number and tried contacting him. After this review I was contacted by a group of people locally who shared similar experiences with Alpine and were hoping to include me in there pursuit. I have no desire to get involved, I mention it because I'm the only not 5 star review here and it's odd after hearing from an organization against them. Prior to my emotional support therapy dogs death we loved it here, but I'll never heal fully from the trauma of my best friends painful death and I'm being reminded by mail. Take me off your lists, she died.
