We were given the names of several local design companies and so that is how we "found" Breckon Land Design. We contacted them all and Chuck Edwards was the only one who had responded quickly to our initial inquiry. Even after meeting with each business, again, Chuck was the only one who followed through w/ an email a few weeks later to see if we needed anything else. All of this impressed us a great deal and we liked his portfolio as well so that is how we chose Chuck. We actually sold the first house we were living in when we started the search and built another before we came up with a final landscaping plan. Chuck was very accommodating to help us with the new yard/pavement/driveway choices which made changes to our "unfinished" plans along the way. We told him up front that we wanted his honest opinions both pro and cons to our ideas and we felt that he was able to do that very well. He asked good questions to see if what we thought we wanted fit how we lived. He came up with 2 designs initially and we put them together to come up with a plan that looked great on paper. The best was yet to come. He recommended several different installers and we had them each bid on the job. We went back and forth with having one company do both the hardscape/pavers and the landscaping or have one company do the hardscape/pavers and another one do the landscaping. He was very patient w/ the several emails and phone calls we made throughout this decision process as well. He told us that there are always issues and to make sure to connect with the person, so when problems arise it will make it easier. Great advice ~ there were some issues and that "connection" helped. We are doing the install in phases because we want to cash flow this project. He helped us with making those choices as well. So far we have all the hardscape patio, boulders, lawn, curbing, rock mulch, and many plants installed and we are thrilled. We love it. Next phase will be a water feature, more plants, and possibly another boulder or two.We don't think that we could have done any of this without the great design work from Chuck, the people with whom he connected us, and his encouragement throughout the process. We definitely would choose Chuck Edwards to do our landscaping design work again.
